On November 11, the Internet Society of China (ISC) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) renewed their Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in Internet and personal-information security in Seoul, South Korea.

Chen Jiachun, Vice President and Executive Deputy Secretary-General of ISC, led a delegation to visit KISA. KISA President Lee Sang-jung attended the exchange meeting and the MoU signing ceremony.

In her remarks, Chen Jiachun reviewed the 12-year partnership since the two sides first signed the MoU in 2013. She noted that the scope of cooperation has steadily widened—from joint anti-Spam efforts at the outset to today's cutting-edge issues such as personal-data protection, cross-border data flows, and AI ethics and governance. Through initiatives like the China-Korea Internet Cooperation Forum and joint round-tables, the two organizations have built a regular, multi-layered, high-quality exchange mechanism that features "policy mutual learning, technology sharing, and joint risk prevention”.

Lee Sang-jung welcomed the ISC delegation and thanked for its long-standing contributions to China-Korea Internet cooperation. He emphasized that both sides share broad common interests and ample room for collaboration in Internet governance and digital policy, and that the renewed MoU will further consolidate their strategic partnership in the digital realm.
