The 7th National E-Commerce Innovation & Application Competition for College Student Started

On March 20, “PSBC Cup”—the 7th National E-Commerce Innovation & Application Competition for College Student started. As a non-commercial event for promoting college students’ Internet innovation and startup practice, this competition was jointed hosted by Ministry of Industry and Information Telecommunication (MIIT), Ministry of Education (MOE) , Internet Society of China (ISC), and Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC).
Mr. Lu Wei, the Secretary-General of ISC presented at the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Lu pointed out that the Internet industry had developed with a cross-cutting, open and all-inclusive manner, facilitating the emerge of new business forms and models, for example, the Internet finance. With the joint effort of ISC and PSBC, the Competition provided a competition platform for the college teachers and students to practice Internet finance innovation and development. By holding such a competition, ISC hopes to attract more students to participate in the event to contribute their new idea to the Internet e-commerce innovation and application.
Mr. Qu Jiawen, the Vice President of PSBC said at the opening ceremony that apart from providing guidance for the student in Internet startup, this competition will also launch “Campus Star” program to select out 30 “Campus Ambassadors” and 30 “Innovation Stars” separately. Meanwhile, PSBC planned to put forward two measures exclusively to support students getting a job and starting a business.
The competition organizing committee introduced that there will be 6 sub-competitions closely related to Internet development, with the themes of E-finance and Payment, E-Trade, E-Retailing, E-Marketing and Planning, Business Model Innovation as well as Innovation and Application. The final competition and award ceremony will be held in November 2014.

Six previous sessions of Competitions have been successively held since the first one in 2007. The Competition greatly improves e-commerce development and Internet innovation and application by inspiring college students’ Internet thinking and widening their startup and employment path, as well as innovating the individual training mode.
