First Meeting of the Second Session of Board of ISC Convoked

The first meeting of the second session of Board of Internet Society of China (ISC) convoked after the second session of General Assembly of ISC at Beijing International Convention Center on August 31st, 2004. Board members of the second session of the Board and delegates from 26 Internet Society of provinces participated the meeting.
There were 96 Board members attending the meeting presided by the executive chairman Gao Lulin. Accounting for more than two thirds of 120 Board members in all (including 30 chairmen of Internet Society of Provinces who were also the Board members of ISC), the election was in accordance with the basic requirement of By-law of ISC. Discussed and passed the Election Principle, the Board members selected the standing Board members, deputy chairmen, chairman, secretary general and deputy secretary generals of the second session of Board of ISC by secret ballot. 57 standing Board members and 21 deputy chairmen were selected and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Madam Hu Qiheng was re-elected as the chairman of ISC. Nominated by Chairman of ISC, the Board members selected Huang Chengqing as secretary general of ISC, Chen Yin, Madam Han Xia and Ma Ning as deputy secretary generals.
According to the By-law of ISC and the need in practical work, Gao Xinmin was selected as standing deputy chairman of the second session of Board of ISC by chairman's nomination and Board members' election.
The Board also reviewed and passed the 'Regulation for Organizational Administration of Internet Society of China' and 'Proposal for Chairmen of Provincial Internet Societies to Play the Role of Standing Board Members of the Board of Internet Society of China in Turn'. The 'Proposal' decided that based on the chairmen of Internet Society of provinces also being the Board members of ISC, 10 of whom would play the role of standing Board members. This 'Proposal' would be brought into effect from this year.
